Eindhoven is a municipality and a city in the South of the Netherlands. The city has a population of 223.000 making it the fifth largest municipality of the Netherlands. Eindhoven is located in the Brabantse Stedenrij, a combined metropolitan area with about 2 million inhabitants.
Eindhoven has its own airport, which is also used for military purposes. The airport is located 7.6 km from Eindhoven. In terms of the number of served passengers it is the second largest airport in the Netherlands with 5.7 million passengers in 2017.

Van Gogh Village
Close to Eindhoven is Nuenen, which is also known as Van Gogh Village. This village is called Van Gogh Village because here the stories about Van Gogh are still told everyday. His letters are available for reading, and there are places to see Van Gogh’s beautiful pictures and paintings in the museum. He lived and worked in Nuenen from 1883 to 1885. His whole past will become clear in this museum. Who he was, how he lived, and why he was so passionate about Nuenen. There is a possibility for an educational tour with an audio guide in 8 languages.
The “Muziekgebouw” which is translated as Musicbuilding in English is also a great highlight of the city. Whether your passion is jazz, pop or classical music. More than 300 concerts are held in the building annually. The concert hall is right on the Market, a short five-minute walk from Eindhoven Central Station. Eindhoven city brewery
Another must visit is the Eindhoven city Brewery (Stadsbrouwerij Eindoven in Dutch). It is an artisan kitchen which means that you can combine home-made brewed beers with names inspired by local landmarks such as Witte Dame and Heeren van Eynthoven, with delicious meals. You can go trough the entire brewing process during a guided tour of the brewery. There is also a possibility to taste several home-brewed beers in the Proeflokaal. The guide will be done by a genuine beer specialist. The brewery is located in the former Schellensfabriek on the Dommel.
Are you travelling with kids and visiting Eindhoven? Then the ‘Ontdekfabriek’ (The Discovery Factory) is the place to be. There are a lot of things to do at the Ontdekfabriek. It is an interactive museum and often offers inventors’ workshops where children are challenged to choose an adventure in which they will build invention themselves. First they can watch an inspiring film, and it is also possible to make a film yourself and learn all about technology in the workshop. Moreover, there is both an inside and an outside playground where you can play with unusual playground equipment, each telling their own story.
The Philips Stadium is the home ground of PSV. The stadium is very modern and located in the centre of Eindhoven. The Philips Stadium is known as one of the most beautiful stadiums in the Netherlands. The capacity is 35.000 people and all seats are covered and heated. Besides the football games held in the stadium, there are several other events held in the stadium. There are three restaurants in the stadium and there are possibilities for meetings, congresses and parties.

Eindhoven is called Lampegat also known as ‘light hole’. Everyone is dressed in original costumes.
